My dear Brothers in the Priesthood,
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This year, our Diocese will be 30 years since its erection. If we look back, we cannot count the miracles God has performed for us and his blessings on us.
All he asks of us in return is a life of thanksgiving, marked by fidelity to and love of him, his Church and our brothers and sisters. 𝐼𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑦 𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑠ℎ, 𝑖𝑓 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑠𝑜 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑠, 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘 𝑡ℎ𝑒 30𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑜𝑓 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐷𝑖𝑜𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐶𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑛 19 𝑁𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟, 2020.
Even as I announce this, I am filled with fear and trembling. For there is still enormous work left to be done before the Cathedral can truly be ready for dedication.
Nevertheless, I am confident that God, who began this good work in and for us will bring it to conclusion (Phil. 1:60), all to his glory. I therefore invite all of you to join me in prayers for this intention.
In addition to my faith in God’s fidelity, I am emboldened by the love and support which all of you, my dear brothers in the priesthood, consecrated persons and lay faithful in our Diocese, continue to show and give me.
I am therefore pleading with all of you: 𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑜 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑡𝑜 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑔𝑒𝑡 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐶𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑑𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝑡𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑑𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑛 19 𝑁𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 2020. 𝑃𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑒!!! This is not the time to stay far away and criticise what is being done or even make suggestions about what ought to be done. Whatever you think should be done, come now and do it!
